The first picture contest of the German-speaking Wikipedia takes place in July 2006. After the success of the 4th writing contest the idea came up to make a similar competition for illustrations of the Wikipedia. It is not primarily about making beautiful “glossy pictures”, but making good illustrations for the encyclopedia. It is important to ensure a high quality of the submitted images, but there is no criterion as a minimum condition.
Illustrations can be nominated for the following categories: people, nature, technology, architecture, graphics and, last but not least, image editing. Submit the contributions until 31 July 2006.
